Welcome to Posterity

Hey! My name is Adam. I’m a writer and editor. Basically, I work with words, and have done so in magazines, newspapers and digital for almost 15 years.

​

I’m also lucky enough to have had four grandparents who’ve been a huge part of my life.

​

Yet, despite all the time I spent with them over the years, for the longest time I didn’t know their life stories. Not properly. And after speaking to my sister and cousins, I realised that they didn't either.

 

One day, I decided that should change. I needed to learn my grandparents’ stories. And I wanted to share them.

 

I’ve written hundreds of articles in my career about all kinds of people. Celebrities, sports stars, politicians, business owners – you name it. Essentially, about the rich and famous. Why couldn’t I do the same for my grandparents?

 

So, I set about learning their stories. I collated all I knew from snippets they’d told me over the years. I asked relatives to share their memories. Finally, armed with that background, I sat down with my grandparents and asked them to tell me everything. From start to finish.

 

And you know what I learned?

They may not be rich. They may not be famous. But their stories are just as – if not more – deserving of being written, designed and displayed to the world.

​

So, I put it all on a poster, complete with photos, for them to mount on their wall. You can see some of the pictures of how it turned out on this page.

 

That’s how Posterity was born.
